-
How emerging technologies will alter the future of work
-
How AI and analytics can be harnessed for social good
-
How innovation in these spaces can be more inclusive and improve the quality of life for all.
We will visit the Block Center to understand the Block method

We will make a guided visit to the "Human Sensible Lab" of the Carnegie Mellon University.
Build advanced computational tools to model and understand human behavior from sensory data (eg, video, motion capture, audio). Our work is motivated by applications in the fields of human health, computer graphics, machine vision, biometrics, and human-machine interface.
The MLSP investigates machine learning for signal processing, including computational processing of speech, audio and audiovisual. Research is focused on creating more powerful algorithms and tools to understand and process these signals, especially in noisy environments.
NREC develops and matures robotics technologies and solutions from concept to commercialization. NREC is at the forefront of unmanned ground vehicle design, autonomy, detection and perception, machine learning, computer vision, operator assistance, 3D mapping and position estimation.
Pittsburgh, always a center of research, academic instruction, innovation and development, is now one of the largest commercial centers for autonomous robots in the world. With more than 100 organizations developing market solutions, Pittsburgh is recognized as the Robotics Capital of the World.
There are many opportunities for exploration, experimentation, collaborations and partnerships. There are few cities in the world where industry leaders can meet face to face to influence the direction of the industry. Pittsburgh is one of those places.
PRN's purpose is to build bridges, forge new relationships and foster a strong business community unified by robotics. The Pittsburgh Robotics ecosystem is made up of a wide range of stakeholders, including CMUs, market leaders, startups, investors, vendors, service providers...and the communities around us to together create new paths in the new emerging industrial revolution, Industry 4.0.
PITTSBURGH university
Innovators come to the University of Pittsburgh to find answers and ask bold new questions. We are a research powerhouse by any measure and are consistently among the top US institutions in funding for the National Institutes of Health.
We will meet the Research Community of the University of Pittsburgh
Artificial intelligence, robotics, machine learning, and advanced manufacturing have had a profound impact on our society, our economy, and our daily lives. However, automation is displacing workers in many industries. Algorithms are driving decision making in powerful, invisible (and unforeseen) ways. New platforms and networks are reshaping the way we view our world and engage with it.
